The British International School, Phuket (BISP) Mathematics Department has received excellent UK Maths Challenge (UKMT) results this term. Earlier this year, students took the Senior Maths Challenge paper, designed to provide difficult mathematical challenges for students aged 16-18 around the world, to inspire a love of problem-solving.
This year, we received an impressive 23 certificates across Year 12 and Year 13. It is particularly difficult to gain certificates at the Senior level, so this was a great achievement.
Year 13’s Nayoung gained a Gold for the second year in a row, and Year 12’s Bhuvan scored an incredible 117 out of 125 to gain both a Gold and also the Top in School award. Bhuvan’s score is the highest any student from BISP has received on the UK Maths Challenge over the past 10 years! Well done to all of the students involved!
