Year 12 Biology and Environmental Systems and Societies students recently completed two active days of fieldwork and laboratory skills in collaboration with PSU University.

This marine biology course provided valuable insight into university life while covering essential skills for their coursework. Students learned to use dichotomous keys with various marine species and measured the population size of moon snails in a specific area. They also assessed changes in biodiversity along a rocky shore. Throughout the course, students embraced the demands of university-level content and consistently engaged in all activities.

Such learning experiences not only enhance BISP students’ scientific understanding but also prepare them for future academic challenges and foster a deeper appreciation for marine biology.
