This holiday season, a student-led initiative by Year 6 students, supported by Mrs. Melissa Hewison, brought joy to the children at Baan Jo School. The project, which involved the entire primary school community, aimed to teach students about generosity, gratitude, and the importance of giving back.

Primary students were invited to donate small items for Christmas gift bags. The response was overwhelming, with donations exceeding all expectations. Thanks to the generosity of families, the team was able to assemble an impressive 74 Christmas gift bags, ensuring there was one for every student at Baan Jo School.

I felt so happy because every single student got a present and these kids have never celebrated Christmas. They all looked so happy to get a gift. – Sascha Y6

Year 6 students, with guidance from their teachers, worked diligently to organise the donations and create age-appropriate gift bags. Each bag was thoughtfully packed with a variety of items to bring smiles to the recipients.

The project culminated in a heartwarming visit to Baan Jo School, where members of the Year 6 Wellbeing Committee, along with Mrs. Hewison and Ms. Rak, personally distributed the gift bags to the students. The visit was filled with joy and laughter as the children exchanged smiles, made new friends, and shared stories.

I made so many new friends that day. I had so much fun talking to them all. – Nai Neua Y6

This initiative was not only a wonderful way to spread holiday cheer but also a valuable learning experience for BISP students. It provided them with an opportunity to reflect on their own privileges and the impact of small acts of kindness.

A huge thank you to everyone in the primary school community who contributed to this meaningful project. Your generosity has made a lasting impression on the students at Baan Jo School and inspired our Year 6 students to lead with empathy and compassion.
