At BISP, Wellbeing Days are all about helping students thrive on the inside as well as the outside. These days are packed with interactive sessions focusing on everything from mental health to physical wellbeing.
The most recent Wellbeing Day saw students explore topics such as consent, resilience, nutrition, and self-care through workshops, challenges, and expert talks. It was a day of learning, reflection, and laughter, reinforcing the importance of looking after both their body and mind.
Middle School
Middle School focused on physical wellbeing through engaging activities and discussions.
- Year 7 explored the changes that come with puberty and the importance of healthy habits. As part of a video project, Wellness Wisdom, they shared their top ten tips for maintaining physical wellbeing.
- Year 8 tackled the topic of consent, creating a short film with a comedic twist to highlight why physical health matters.
- Year 9 got creative with a rap about physical wellbeing before joining Slice Wellbeing for an interactive session on the connection between nutrition and overall health.
Upper School
Upper School sessions centred on making informed choices about health and wellbeing.
- Year 10 explored Empowered Choices: Protecting and Respecting Your Body, covering key topics such as sexual health, contraception, and consent. Students also heard from Holly Lohmeyer, a respected health and fitness coach, who led discussions on challenging unrealistic beauty standards, building resilience through fitness, and the impact of social media on self-image.
- Year 11 focused on Fuel Your Body and Rest Your Mind, engaging in hands-on challenges and wellbeing activities. They put their teamwork to the test in The Spaghetti Showdown before choosing between tailored health and relaxation sessions. Holly Lohmeyer returned for another health talk, while others experienced the calming effects of a sound bath. Students also took part in nutrition workshops run by Slice Wellbeing, who later set up an interactive booth offering advice on fuelling the body for optimal health.
Senior School
Senior School students embraced the theme Healthy Body, Healthy Mind through a variety of activities. Students took part in a mix of physical and mentally stimulating challenges, from volleyball to Thai cooking—some even showcased their singing skills in karaoke! To unwind, they joined a sound bath session, promoting relaxation and mindfulness. The day concluded with a parent-led careers workshop, giving students valuable insights into different career pathways.
Overall, it was a day of valuable lessons, teamwork, and self-care, helping students take charge of their wellbeing and feel empowered for the future.
