Compassion and a strong values framework must lie at the heart of the educational process and collectively and individually, all members of the BISP community should, through discernible action, demonstrate a concern for the welfare and support of others.
(BISP Guiding Statements)

Aside from numerous fund-raising activities in support of community projects, the school has on-going projects to demonstrate concern for others:

M.A.D. (Making a Difference):

Every child at the school has an opportunity to engage with a M.A.D. project, and connect with sections of the community in need of support. It is the school aim that BISP students become compassionate and socially responsible leaders for the future. This will be the start of a lifelong commitment to working together and supporting the communities in which they live, wherever that may be.

SOS Children’s Village – Year 3, Year 4, Year 12 and Year 13

The School has a partnership with SOS Children’s Village, Phuket. SOS Children’s Village Phuket was set up in the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami. At the time, SOS Children’s Villages immediately provided emergency relief and took care of unaccompanied children. More information can be read on their website sosthailand.org

BISP supports their education programme including, English, and Sport. A group of BISP students visit the SOS Children’s Village once a week for about an hour, and twice each week they come onto the campus. The school provides learning resources and all the children teach and learn together.

Good Shepherd Sisters, Year 5 and 6

The school has a partnership with The Good Shepherd Sisters, Phuket.  This foundation has recently built a new school close to Rassada Pier to educate the Burmese children who would not otherwise be able to go to school.  You can find out more about the centre at thegoodshepherd.info/projects and theschoolphuket.com.

‘Phuket has been good to us’ FoundationSoi Dog and BISP

The school has a long association of support for this major Phuket charitable organisation, including the organisation of their Christmas Tree donation project.

Soi Dogs

Student volunteers work, during school holidays, at this refuge and kennels for street dogs.

Sunshine Village

Weekly swim-safety lessons are provided at the school by staff and students for children from this local orphanage.

Lvea Village School, Cambodia

Students have raised funds for the construction of a classroom at this village school, and to support a teacher for a year.  This is followed up by BISP students teaching at the school as a part of the CAS programme.
