Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... |
BISP Year 7 student Timur has already made an impressive mark in the world of martial arts, specifically in the discipline of wrestling. Representing Phuket’s Dojo team, Timur has had a string of successes, most recently in July 2024 at the US Open in Miami. During this high-profile event, Timur took home one silver and two bronze medals, a testament to his hard work, dedication, and talent. This trip to Miami followed another incredible experience in Bhutan, where the Dojo team scaled new heights and earned recognition for their skills and determination.
Timur’s achievements are no accident. His journey has been shaped by years of practice, discipline, and competition. In 2023, during the Kurash Wrestling Thailand Championships, he was named the best national competitor in the 10-12-year-old age category. His exceptional performance helped his team secure the trophy for the best team performance in the 9-14-year-old class. This recognition highlights not just his individual brilliance but also his ability to work within a team dynamic, pushing everyone towards collective success.
This young athlete is showing no signs of slowing down, and we can only expect more remarkable achievements from him in the future.
In addition to these competitions, Timur’s training has also been featured in several newspapers, further cementing his status as an athlete to watch. His family continue to support him through these exciting opportunities, balancing both local and international challenges while allowing him to continue his academic commitments. We are incredibly proud of Timur and can’t wait to see where his journey takes him this academic year!
