The BISP is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Tarita, affectionately known as Ig, a talented Year 10 player from the BISP Tennis Academy. Ig’s recent successes on the international tennis scene have showcased her dedication, skill, and sportsmanship, making her a true ambassador for our school and Thailand.
In April 2024, Ig became the Girl’s Doubles Champion at the ITF J30 tournament held in Tajikistan. Partnering with Safina from Kazakhstan, Ig secured her first ITF title, marking a memorable moment in her budding tennis career. This victory is a testament to her hard work and determination, and it sets a promising tone for her future endeavours.
Ig has earned the honour of representing Thailand as a National Junior Tennis Player. She secured a spot in the International Team Events for the 16 & Under girls, particularly the prestigious Billie Jean King Cup 2024 Asia/Oceania Qualifying Event, which took place in Kazakhstan. Competing against 16 countries, Ig played both singles and doubles matches. Despite Thailand not being a seeded team and not advancing past the strong competitors from Korea and Taipei, Ig’s individual performance was impressive, showcasing her dedication and skill.
Ig’s success is due in large part to her rigorous training regimen at the BISP Tennis Academy, where she trains 19 hours a week under the expert guidance of Head of Performance Victor and Tennis Director Coach Gill. Their mentorship and support have been instrumental in her development and achievements.
In addition to her recent accomplishments, Ig’s profile has been further enriched with notable past invitations. Last summer, she was selected to be part of the GSPDP/ITF/ATF team to Europe during July-August 2023, standing out as the only Thai player in the group. Following the European tour, Ig was again invited by GSPDP/ITF/ATF to join the 16 & Under team in China in November 2023. These invitations highlight her exceptional talent and the recognition she has earned within the international tennis community.
Ig has been a member of the Thailand National Team for three consecutive years, being recognised as a top player since 2022. She has previously been a National player for the 14 & Under category for two years and now competes in the 16 & Under category.
Ig’s journey is a source of inspiration for her peers, younger athletes, and the entire BISP community. Her commitment to excellence and her passion for tennis exemplify the values we strive to instil in our students. We are incredibly proud of Ig and look forward to supporting her as she continues to excel on the international stage.
Thank you, Ig, for your dedication and for being a shining example of what can be achieved with hard work and determination. The BISP community is behind you every step of the way, cheering you on as you reach new heights in your tennis career.
