Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The 2023/24 school year has been another remarkable one for the BISP Tennis Academy. We’ve seen a significant increase in young players, ranging from 3 to 17 years old, joining our programme. The BISP Tennis Academy academy now boasts 190 players who participate weekly, honing their technical and tactical skills, as well as improving their coordination and overall tennis abilities.

We have expanded our programme to include additional classes for Nursery and Reception students, providing a perfect opportunity for our youngest players to learn the basics of tennis while having fun.

This year, we also introduced a Mini High Performance Squad led by Coach Robin. These players have been selected to prepare for joining our prestigious High-Performance Squad when they are ready. They have already started competing locally and nationally, including participating in the King’s Cup.

Our High-Performance players have benefited from a specialised fitness programme developed in collaboration with a tennis fitness specialist. Our Head of Performance, Victor Garriga, who joined us in February, has been working diligently with our top athletes. His dedication and professionalism have enabled some of our players to participate in European tours in France, Belgium, and Germany, as well as elite events at the Australian Open. Additionally, some of our athletes have competed in the Junior Davis Cup, in both boys’ and girls’ categories.

Throughout the year, all our players have participated in several ATF and ITF tournaments around the world, accumulating valuable ranking points.

Our adults’ programme has also grown significantly, now involving more than 120 players who participate regularly from Monday to Friday.

As part of our partnership with UTR, we organised events for our players and external participants, offering them the chance to improve their UTR ranking. Our camps and internal competitions were also a great success during all school breaks, open to all categories. These events provided an excellent opportunity for players to showcase their improvements and make new tennis friends. We have started organising international events, welcoming teams from international schools in Japan. Our players had the chance to compete against them in a social environment, fostering both competition and camaraderie.

As we look forward to the 2024/25 school year, we are excited to announce additional sessions and new opportunities for our players. Stay tuned for more updates and continued success at the BISP Tennis Academy!
