Our recent Secondary School Wellbeing Day was enriched by a visit from Phuket’s newest culinary innovator, Slice Wellbeing. Students from Years 9 and 11 had the opportunity to engage with celebrity chef and nutrition expert, David Laris, who has worked in some of the top kitchens in the world.

Based in Cherngtalay, Slice Wellbeing is pioneering a movement that resonates deeply with BISP’s priority of student wellbeing, empowering our students to understand the connection between nutrition and performance.

During their presentation, Slice’s team shared insights about the impact of nutrition on academic success during the crucial developmental stages our students are experiencing. Discussions centred on how wholesome nutrition supports not only academic performance but also physical development and emotional wellbeing. Students also learned about the significance of avoiding processed foods high in seed oils and artificial additives. The final interactive session involved teams of students working together to create the most impressive batch of healthy energy balls.

This collaboration with Slice Wellbeing represents another step forward in our school’s commitment to developing healthy habits that will benefit our students well beyond their academic journey.
