BISP recently celebrated another dynamic Wellbeing Day, centred around Cognitive Wellbeing and infused with a touch of Halloween spirit. Each year group participated in targeted activities designed to foster resilience, self-awareness, and mental clarity. Here’s how each group spent the day:

Year 7: Relax and Recharge

Year 7 students participated in a workshop titled Relax and Recharge, where they learned strategies to manage stress. Guided by Mr. Preen, our resident yoga expert, students practiced spooky-themed yoga poses to find their inner calm. Later, they enhanced their problem-solving skills and teamwork by creating a Zombie Apocalypse Survival Guide.

Year 8: Unstoppable You

Year 8 engaged in a hands-on workshop called Unstoppable You, led by Mr. Bell. This session was packed with activities designed to build resilience and empower students to face challenges with confidence and determination.

Year 9: Preparing for IGCSE

Year 9’s Wellbeing Day focused on preparing for IGCSE demands. Students participated in taster lessons across various subjects, allowing them to explore future options. The day wrapped up with an Activity Fair, where students had the opportunity to meet teachers and gain insights into each subject, helping them make informed decisions.

Year 10: IGCSE Prep and Trip Readiness

Year 10 students started the day with an IGCSE Prep Masterclass led by Alan Yip, where they developed essential study habits, subject-specific study techniques, and memory-boosting strategies. Following the masterclass, they rotated through a series of practical sessions to prepare for upcoming trips to Chiang Mai, Krabi, and Koh Lanta. Activities included using online record books, meeting with trip providers, participating in Camp Craft to learn tent construction, and gaining First Aid certification.

Year 11: Visualisation and Goal Setting

Year 11 began the day with a Rounders tournament led by their Student Leaders. They then shifted focus to future planning, creating personal vision boards and writing letters to their future selves on the FutureMe platform. Alan Yip continued his IGCSE Preparation Masterclass, honing essential study skills for the upcoming Mock Examinations. The day concluded with a Subject Selection Fair, where families learned about IB and BTEC programmes to support informed decision-making for future studies.

Year 12: Trip Preparation and CAS Exploration

Year 12 students started the day by meeting with residential providers to learn about the upcoming trips week. In the middle of the day, they attended Healthy Life workshops covering relationships, social balance, academics, and mindset. The day wrapped up with CAS workshops led by Year 13 students, allowing Year 12 students to exchange ideas and prepare for their CAS journey.

Year 13: Collaboration and Post-BISP Planning

Year 13 focused on collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving. Partnering with Making Teams, students participated in Taskmaster and Outdoor Olympic activities, where teamwork and strategy were essential. The day concluded with options for mindful nature walks, leading CAS workshops for Year 12, and planning for life after BISP.

Wellbeing Day was a valuable opportunity for each year group to focus on cognitive development, resilience, and community-building. We thank all teachers and staff who made this day meaningful for our students. We look forward to seeing the positive impact these experiences will have on their growth and success!
