As we reach the end of another vibrant and enriching school year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared. This year has been filled with remarkable experiences, new learning opportunities, and wonderful memories. Let’s look back at some of the highlights that have made this year so special.
Reading has always been at the heart of our educational philosophy, and this year, we implemented a whole-class reading approach. This initiative fostered a love for reading across all age groups. By exploring a diverse range of texts together, students enhanced their comprehension skills, broadened their literary horizons, and engaged in meaningful discussions. Our classrooms buzzed with excitement over new stories and characters, and it was wonderful to see our students’ reading abilities and enthusiasm grow.
This year, we introduced the My Happy Mind wellbeing curriculum, a comprehensive programme designed to promote mental health and emotional wellbeing among our students. The curriculum has equipped our students with valuable tools for self-awareness, resilience, and positivity. Through various modules, our children have learned to understand their emotions, build positive relationships, and develop a growth mindset. The impact has been profound, with noticeable improvements in our students’ overall happiness and wellbeing.
Selecting highlights from this remarkable year is no easy task, but some standout moments include the various visitors we had in school. Marine biologists brought the wonders of the ocean into our classrooms, fascinating students with insights into marine life, ecosystems, and conservation efforts. Our school was also privileged to host children’s authors Gail Clarke and Kat Weatherill. These visits provided a unique opportunity for students to engage with the creative minds behind some of their favourite books.
Our annual sporting events, such as Sports Day, Cross Country, and Swimming Galas, were once again highlights of the year. Students showcased their athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a variety of events. These events not only highlighted physical abilities but also reinforced the importance of perseverance and team spirit.
This year marked the first time BISP participated in an exchange programme with a school in Wales. A group of students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Welsh culture, attend classes, and participate in local activities. The exchange fostered cross-cultural understanding, lifelong friendships, and personal growth. Students returned with broadened perspectives and unforgettable memories of their time in Wales.
As we reflect on the year, we are filled with pride and gratitude for the incredible journey we’ve all embarked on together. Each event and initiative has contributed to the holistic development of our students, nurturing their minds, bodies, and spirits. We look forward to building on these successes and continuing to provide enriching experiences for our students in the years to come.
Here’s to another year of growth, learning, and joy!
