As we wrap up another exciting academic year at Mid Air Circus Arts, let’s take a moment to celebrate some spectacular highlights and achievements from 2023/2024. It’s been a year full of growth, challenges, and breathtaking performances, and we couldn’t be prouder of our community.
A Warm Welcome to Coach Saya Kotani
We kicked off the year by welcoming an outstanding new coach to our team, Saya Kotani, who joined us in August 2023. Coming from Japan, Saya brought over ten years of expertise in flying trapeze and aerial arts to MACA. Her dedication and passion have truly elevated our training and inspired both students and staff.
Christmas Show Extravaganza
Our Christmas Show was nothing short of magical! For the first time, we included our adult students, who dazzled the audience with their skills in aerial silks and hammocks. With 77 aerial performers and 16 flying trapeze artists, the event was a spectacular display of courage and grace, marking a milestone in our academy’s journey.
Engagement in BISP Events
Throughout the year, MACA was thrilled to be part of several BISP events, including the Soccer 7s, Christmas Fair, and the Sea Eagle Invite 2024 swim meet. It’s been fantastic to engage with the wider school community and showcase our students’ talents across different platforms.
2023 Airstars Competition
A special shoutout goes to our students Chanita, Hiisan, and Zara from BISP, who represented our Aerial Arts High-Performance Team at the 8th Aerial Dance Art Competition, “2023 Airstars,” in Bangkok. Competing on November 19th, they made their international debut against globally recognised aerial artists, showing off their skills and determination commendably!
2024 MACAJAC: Our Biggest Yet!
This year’s MACA Junior Aerial Championships (MACAJAC) was our largest yet, with 76 competitors from Bangkok, Koh Samui, and beyond. Watching our young artists take the stage and compete at such a high level was truly awe-inspiring.
Rising Enrollment
We’ve reached a new record with 190 students attending our classes weekly during Term 1. It’s been exhilarating to see so many new faces eager to learn and grow with us.
‘The Greatest Showman’
We featured our Aerial Arts High-Performance Team and Level 5 students in this aerial showcase. Themed around “The Greatest Showman,” this performance was the highlight of the year, inspiring the BISP primary students.
Thank you to all our students, parents, and the BISP community for your support and enthusiasm. Here’s to another year of flying high and pushing boundaries at MACA!
