Early in the term, Miss Krijewski and Mrs McCarthy extended a warm invitation to parents to participate in a session focused on reading and phonics in Key Stage 1. 

During this workshop, parents gained valuable insights on supporting their young learners at home. The workshop introduced parents to the Read Write Inc phonics programme, designed to help children read fluently and at speed, thereby enabling them to concentrate on developing their comprehension, vocabulary and spelling skills. 

Emphasis was also placed on the significance of fostering a love for reading and storytelling among children. 

During the workshop parents not only gained a deeper understanding of how phonics is systematically taught at BISP but also discovered ways to create an environment at home where reading is a cherished and enjoyable activity, ultimately instilling a lifelong love of reading within their families and paving the way for a brighter educational future for their children.
