Bonjour. Welcome to our Journee de la francophonie video. The international day of celebrating the French language falls on 20th March each year.

French is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. It is the official language in about 44 countries and is spoken by about 450 million people in these countries. It is also one of the official languages of the United Nations.

In BISP French is becoming more and more popular as a language of study and it is amazing to note how many different nationalities are studying French at our school. In all, there are about 28 different nationalities who are currently studying French from Year 7 to Year 13. Let’s hear from some of them.
