Fitness influencer Holly Lohmeyer—better known on Instagram as @healthbyholly__ recently visited BISP to deliver thought-provoking sessions to Upper School students during Wellbeing Day. Her presentations offered invaluable insights on health, self-esteem and personal development, resonating deeply with our student community.

Holly addressed the significant hormonal changes adolescents experience, explaining how these natural fluctuations affect mood, energy levels and overall wellbeing. She emphasised the importance of sourcing reliable information when navigating these challenging transitions. Rather than focusing on appearance, Holly advocated for a more holistic approach to fitness—prioritising strength, balanced nutrition and functionality over narrow aesthetic ideals.

Drawing from her experience as a content creator, Holly spoke candidly about social media’s impact on mental health. She shared personal insights about how constant comparison on digital platforms can undermine self-confidence, encouraging students to curate more positive online environments by following accounts that genuinely inspire and motivate. Holly also explored practical coping strategies for balancing academic, athletic and personal commitments, suggesting mindful scheduling, breathwork techniques and maintaining open communication with trusted friends and family members.

Throughout her presentation, Holly delivered clear warnings about risky behaviours that can harm developing bodies and minds. She highlighted the dangers of substance use and stressed the importance of seeking professional guidance for weight training, advocating for age-appropriate, safe approaches to fitness development.

Before concluding, Holly emphasised emotional awareness and addressed harmful stereotypes. She reinforced that expressing emotions and offering mutual support form the foundation of healthy relationships. By combining evidence-based insights with her authentic enthusiasm for wellbeing, Holly demonstrated why she has become such an influential role model for young people.

BISP extends our sincere thanks to Holly for sharing her expertise and personal journey with such warmth and clarity. Her practical guidance has left a lasting impression on our students, strengthening our community’s commitment to prioritising both mental and physical wellbeing.
