Blood donations play a vital role in saving lives, and Phuket is currently facing a shortage. To help address this pressing issue, BISP Year 12 students, in collaboration with the Thai Red Cross Society, are organising a blood drive on Thursday, 6 March 2025, from 9:30am to 2:00pm in the BISP Conference Room, MTB.
This initiative aims to encourage blood donations, particularly from those with rare blood types such as Rh-negative, which are often in short supply. Your contribution could make a significant difference to someone in need.
As a student-led event, the blood drive reflects BISP students’ commitment to making a positive impact in their community while developing key leadership and teamwork skills.
If you are eligible to donate, we invite you to take part and help ensure that life-saving blood is available for those who need it most. Together, we can make a difference.
Eligibility Requirements:
To donate whole blood, plasma, or platelets, you must:
- Be in good health
- Be at least 17 years old (those under 18 require parental permission)
- Weigh at least 45 kilograms
- Pass the physical and health-history assessments
Please note: specific eligibility requirements may vary slightly depending on the type of donation.
Before Donating Blood:
- Ensure you get plenty of sleep the night before
