The children in Early Years are working towards the Early Learning Goals, and as part of the ELG for Understanding the World, they have been exploring ‘People, Culture and Communities’. During the second half of Term 1, students focused on the importance of kindness and understanding who helps us. This included learning about parents, teachers, and members of the emergency services. This unit plays a key role in enhancing their personal, social, and emotional development while broadening their understanding of the world.

As part of this unit, the annual fire truck visit took place on Thursday, 21st November, and it was a resounding success—an enjoyable occasion for all Early Years students. The children were thrilled to see the flashing lights, hear the loud siren, and meet real-life helpers.

The students had the opportunity to explore the fire truck by walking around it, climbing into the cabin, walking through the back area, and holding the water hose. This hands-on experience generated plenty of excitement and inspired engaging discussions, further enriching their understanding of helpfulness and kindness through role-play activities.

To express their gratitude, the children used their growing drawing and phonics skills to create pictures and write thank-you cards for the Aor Bor Tor Koh Kaew Fire Station team. We are incredibly grateful for their visit and eagerly look forward to welcoming them back next year.
