At BISP, we understand that school can sometimes feel overwhelming. In today’s world, being a young person comes with unique challenges, and many students find it difficult to navigate both academic demands and the added pressures of growing up. With this in mind, it is more important than ever to prioritise student wellbeing, ensuring they flourish both socially and academically.
To support this, we have recently implemented a new wellbeing platform called Komodo, which allows Tutors and the Pastoral Support Team to monitor students’ wellbeing with ease. Though Komodo is straightforward to use, its impact is profound. Throughout the academic year, students complete regular surveys covering various aspects of wellbeing, such as sleep, stress, device use, and friendships, among others. The Pastoral Support Team, along with Tutors, can track these responses and offer timely interventions when needed. Additionally, students have the option to request direct support from staff if they are facing any difficulties.
By integrating platforms like Komodo into our daily routines, BISP is taking proactive steps to prioritise every student’s wellbeing as a key part of their educational experience. This holistic approach not only promotes academic success but also encourages emotional growth, helping students build resilience and develop healthy coping strategies for the challenges they encounter. At BISP, we believe that when students feel supported and understood, they are better equipped to thrive both in the classroom and beyond.
