On the 20th of May, BISP celebrated the Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony. The ceremony took place in the BISP Auditorium with family, friends and teachers attending the special event to celebrate the graduates. During the ceremony, the audience was welcomed by BISP Headmaster, Mr. Meredith, as well as Jason Perkins, Head of Senior School and heard speeches delivered by keynote speaker, Mrs. Susanne Ultman, BISP Head Students Yi Won and Matti and Secondary School Principal Mr. Neil Crossland. Thereafter, certificates were awarded to the students by Emeritus Prof. Dr. Pornchai Matangkasombut, the Chairman of the Board, the Phuket Governor and BISP CEO, Dr. Apiramon Ourairat.

The BISP Class of 2023 “Leaders for Tomorrow,” consists of 60 students who are embarking on the next chapter of their educational journey. This diverse group of students holds passports from 24 different countries, reflecting the global nature of the school community.

Among the graduating class, 28% of students hold dual citizenship, representing their multicultural backgrounds. Additionally, 17% of the students have been part of the BISP community for 13 or more years, demonstrating their long-standing connection to the school.

The Class of 2023 showcases a range of talents and aspirations. These graduates are applying to universities in various countries: US, UK, Netherlands, Canada, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Ireland, Grenada, Norway, France, Italy, Philippines, Germany, and Spain. Furthermore, three students are securing professional football opportunities.

Impressively, 22 students have received scholarship offers, with 19 of them accepting the offers. Among these scholarships, five are athletic scholarships, highlighting the exceptional athletic achievements of these graduates. The scholarship offers have been diverse, ranging up to $60,000 US per year.

As students receive multiple offers and scholarships, they are currently in the process of deciding which offers to accept or waiting for offers dependent on their final IBDP results. Notable university offers include institutions such as the University of Cambridge, University of Toronto, UBC, UCLA, University of Southern California, Trinity College Dublin, Chulalongkorn University, University of Bristol, Georgetown University, University of Navarra, Durham University and many more.

The final details and updates regarding university acceptances and decisions will be provided after the release of the IBDP results in July. The BISP community eagerly awaits the continued success and bright futures of the Class of 2023 as they go on to make their mark in the world.
