On Friday, 7 March 2025, a group of 10 BISP women—staff and students— gathered for an inspiring International Women’s Day Lunch The room was filled with women of different ages, nationalities, and backgrounds, all coming together to celebrate achievements and engage in meaningful discussions on ways to promote progress towards greater equality.
Organised by Phuket Has Been Good To Us and held at the Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town the gathering featured engaging discussions, inspiring speakers, and shared experiences. This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, encouraged attendees to reflect on ways to create more opportunities and drive positive change. While progress takes time, the event emphasised the importance of sustained efforts, both individually and as a community, in fostering a more inclusive future.
Beyond raising awareness, the event had a direct impact on the local community. With a goal of raising THB 450,000, the initiative aims to fund an English teacher for a year at Kamala School, supporting access to education for disadvantaged children.
The lunch was really enjoyable, and it was great to see so many women coming together to support one another. The atmosphere felt like a safe space, and it was also nice to see some men showing their support. – Nathalie (Year 12)
Guests enjoyed a wonderful meal while listening to inspirational speakers who shared insights on breaking down barriers and fostering inclusivity in both personal and professional spaces. The discussions provided a valuable opportunity for reflection, connection, and commitment to action.
A special thank you to Phuket Has Been Good To Us, Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town, the Australian Consulate-General, and all the speakers who contributed to making this event a success. BISP is pleased to support initiatives that encourage meaningful discussions and opportunities for personal and professional growth, fostering a positive impact within our school and the wider community.
