The 2024 Phuket University Fair at BISP concluded with great success, providing an invaluable experience for everyone involved. We were delighted to host representatives from over 130 universities and higher education institutions on our campus. This event offered students from BISP, their parents, and students from other Phuket schools an excellent opportunity to explore a wide range of universities and colleges from 22 countries, marking a significant step in their future academic planning.

During the main fair, community members had the chance to engage with university representatives and gather detailed insights about various institutions. This year, we arranged the Refectory to provide a cool, comfortable, and welcoming space for all participants, fostering meaningful conversations. We extend our thanks to the school community team for their efforts in making the event run smoothly. Members of the Phuket community also enjoyed a different, outdoor, picnic-style lunch experience, thanks to the hard work of our Refectory staff – and a little bit of luck with the weather. All Secondary students had the chance to visit the fair during lunch following their sunny-day picnic. It was an informative and rewarding day for everyone.

The day-long event featured a series of informative workshops, starting with morning sessions for BISP students and continuing in the afternoon for visiting schools. Our Year 11 to 13 students participated in workshops exploring university-level subjects, including Medicine, The Arts, Hospitality, and Engineering. Concurrently, specialised workshops provided essential guidance on the application process. These sessions offered valuable insights into higher education opportunities in countries such as Australia and Canada, and covered key aspects of applications, including scholarships in the United States and writing personal statements for UK universities. We were pleased to see that some parents also took the opportunity to join these workshops.

The day was lively and full of activity, offering students and parents countless opportunities for exploration, discovery, and the sharing of valuable knowledge. These experiences will help them develop the skills needed to make well-informed decisions about their future academic paths. Looking ahead, we are excited to build on the success of this year’s University Fair, and we are already planning an even more enriching event for next year.
