Year 12 students at BISP dedicated much of Term 1 to actively participating in the IB CAS Programme, an integral part of the IB Core. Through Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) experiences, students explored opportunities aligned with their interests while making a positive impact in the local community.
One standout project was the “Blind Date with a Book” initiative, a creative effort aimed at supporting the Good Shepherd Charity shop. Recognising the need to promote the sale of second-hand items, a group of students gave unwanted books a new lease on life. They wrapped the books in decorative paper and added a brief description on the front, encouraging buyers to focus on the content rather than judging by the cover. This unique approach brought attention to books that had been overlooked while promoting the importance of sustainable and second-hand shopping.
The project’s success was clear as the books sold out, showing the power of creativity and community engagement. A special thank you to Lili, Kate, Nang, Pauline, Caprice, and Katie for their dedication to this meaningful initiative.
At BISP, we are proud to see our students embrace the CAS Programme with such enthusiasm and purpose. Their efforts not only contribute to local causes but also foster a sense of responsibility, creativity, and collaboration.
