Last week, a group of BISP students participated in the FOBISIA ‘Girls In Science’ conference hosted by King Henry VIII College Malaysia.
This was a great opportunity for students to see what a career in Science is like and any challenges they might face because of their gender. Our students engaged in the live Q&A session and Dr Sue Deuchars, Dr Nazlah Shafin and Dr Nurha Ghani were on hand to advise students how they can succeed in Science and what steps they can take now to develop their interests and forge successful career paths.
BISP Science teacher, Ms Jennings said, “Our students learned a lot about the varying opportunities Science can offer. Overall it was a successful event that allowed students to see how far women have come in relation to female representation in Science.”
