Every year, BISP Primary Library organises an after-school event for each year level, the goal being a fun-filled afternoon where the children experience the library in a more festive setting with the focus still on books and how they inspire us. Chinese New Year, Diwali and Ramadan are just a few of the many celebrations that Year 1 students are studying in their current unit.
Last week on October 30th, the chosen celebration was Halloween. Pumpkins, bats, skeletons, ghosts, witches, and vampires were just some of the creatures that waited at the library’s monster-decorated door to enter into an afternoon of Halloween stories, mummy lantern-making, pumpkin twister games, monster cookie decorating, and last but not least, a Halloween-inspired dance. The library was decorated to fit the occasion and the children had a wonderful afternoon culminating with a final round of Halloween stop-dance featuring some amazing monster, ghost, and witch moves.
