At BISP, our cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and what better way to celebrate it than through food? This year, a group of IB students embarked on a special project to bring the school community together through a shared love of cooking. The result? The BISP International Cookbook—a collection of recipes contributed by students and teachers, representing cultures from around the world.

The Idea Behind the Cookbook

The cookbook was created as part of an IB project led by Year 13 students Elsa and Cloe, with support from Year 12 volunteer Emily and the BISP Marketing Department. Their goal was to highlight the incredible cultural diversity at BISP by gathering meaningful recipes from the community.

To make this happen, the team sent out a Google Form inviting students and teachers to share their favourite recipes—ones that held personal or cultural significance. While it took time to collect responses, the variety of dishes submitted made the effort worthwhile, showcasing the rich culinary traditions within the BISP community.

The Process of Bringing It to Life

Once the recipes were gathered, the team worked on designing a visually appealing and easy-to-use digital cookbook. They used Canva to create a clear, engaging layout that would make the cookbook accessible to everyone in the BISP community. While some students focused on recipe collection and writing, others worked on sourcing photos and formatting instructions to ensure a seamless final product.

A Project for the Community

The BISP International Cookbook is more than just a collection of recipes—it’s a celebration of culture, tradition, and the connections we share through food. Whether you’re looking to try a dish from another part of the world or reconnect with a familiar taste from home, this cookbook is for everyone at BISP to enjoy.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed a recipe and helped bring this project to life. We hope this cookbook continues to bring our community together—one dish at a time!
