On Monday, 5th August 2024, BISP marked its 28th Foundation Day with a series of meaningful ceremonies and events. Following tea, coffee, and breakfast which were served, the day commenced with a traditional Brahma ceremony at the school’s Brahma House.
Following the Brahma ceremony, the Islamic religious ceremony took place at the Service Building, symbolising the diverse cultural and religious community at BISP. The school community gathered to give alms to nine monks, continuing with a Buddhist ceremony shortly after. Thereafter, the BISP community members made merit by offering food and drinks to the monks, a heartfelt tradition that reinforces the values of generosity and gratitude. A special tribute was given to Khun Somboon who is retiring after 28 years of service to BISP. The celebrations concluded with a communal lunch in the Refectory, bringing together BISP staff, and guests in a moment of shared joy and reflection.
As BISP Head of School, Simon Meredith closed the event he shared,
“As we look back on the achievements of the past 28 years, we also look forward to a future filled with promise and continued growth.”
This year’s celebration is a testament to BISP’s ongoing commitment to honouring its cultural heritage and fostering a strong, inclusive community. Thank you to everyone who made this day special and for your unwavering support throughout the years.
