BISP Secondary School recently held its annual Academic Awards Assembly on the 19th of June, 2024. This event celebrated the exceptional academic achievements of students, recognising their hard work, dedication, contributions and outstanding performance.

The assembly commenced with a musical performance, followed by the Thai National Anthem, setting a formal and respectful tone for the event. Mr. Tim Pearsaon, Deputy Principal, delivered the opening remarks, expressing pride in the students’ achievements and the importance of how all students have demonstrated excellence in their own way and how their accomplishments and actions have contributed towards another very successful year at BISP.

The commendation awards were the first to be presented. These awards acknowledged students who demonstrated remarkable effort, behaviour, and attitude by making excellent progress in class, showing consideration and respect to others and giving full commitment to activities and tasks. The Assistant Heads of Section led the presentation to the students who received the top number of commendations for the academic year. Following this, a highlight of the ceremony was a piano performance by Hector, a talented Year 7 student, who played “Reverie” by Debussy.

The Subject Awards followed, recognising students who had shown exceptional talent and commitment in specific subjects. Each year group had numerous students being awarded across the broad spectrum of subjects that BISP offers. These awards were introduced by the different year group Student Representatives who delivered fantastic and confident speeches.

Following this, another highlight of the ceremony was a beautiful performance by talented Year 12 student Maggie, who sang ‘Idontwannabeyouanymore’ by Billie Eilish before the exceptional contribution awards were presented by the Heads of Department. These awards recognise a student in each year group who are well-rounded individuals, contribute significantly to our school across a range of different areas in their approach to both academics and general school life, are a role model to other students and uphold our school values of respect, compassion and integrity.

The final honour roll awards were presented by Head of School, Mr Meredith, honouring those students who attained the highest Grade Point Average at the end of the academic year.

The assembly concluded with Secondary Principal Mr. Crossland commending all students for their hard work throughout the year and encouraging them to continue striving for excellence. The BISP community takes great pride in the achievements of its students and looks forward to celebrating more successes in the future.

This annual event not only celebrates academic success but also motivates students to aim higher and continue to embody the BISP values.
