On Tuesday, February 11th, BISP’s English Faculty welcomed award-winning author and publisher Christopher Allen for an immersive flash fiction workshop, designed to enhance the narrative writing skills of Year 10 and Year 11 students.

Through engaging exercises, students explored the art of crafting compelling pieces of micro fiction, experimented with voice and perspective, and mastered the complete story arc—valuable techniques to support their IGCSE First Language English Examinations. By transforming personal experiences into powerful fiction, participants not only refined their technical writing skills but also deepened their passion for storytelling and reading.

Led by Christopher Allen, the mastermind behind SmokeLong Quarterly, a world-leader in flash fiction publication, the workshop provided an invaluable opportunity for young writers to hone their craft, embrace literary experimentation, and gain insight from an expert in the field.
