While their classmates back home were feeling the heat of Phuket’s tropical sun, a group of adventurous BISP students swapped flip-flops for snow boots and embraced the magic of winter at Club Med Tomamu in Hokkaido, Japan.
Under the guidance of Club Med’s expert instructors, students—ranging from complete beginners to confident skiers—quickly found their rhythm on the slopes. The progress throughout the week was remarkable, with many first-time skiers confidently tackling intermediate runs by the end of the trip.
Beyond skiing and snowboarding, students enjoyed a variety of winter experiences. They explored a local snow village, built creative snowmen, engaged in friendly snowball fights, and warmed up with hot chocolate in igloos while toasting marshmallows over crackling fires. Many also took part in Club Med’s evening entertainment shows, discovering new talents along the way.
These shared experiences fostered new friendships across year groups and created lasting memories both on and off the slopes. The culinary side of the trip was just as exciting, with students sampling Japanese specialities alongside international dishes at Club Med’s renowned buffets.
