BISP Primary School offers a nurturing and engaging learning environment where students build a strong academic foundation while developing essential life skills. To help each child reach their full potential, we offer an irresistible and rigorous curriculum based on the UK national curriculum. Our curriculum is tailored to suit our unique context and personalised to meet each child’s specific needs. This curriculum aims to foster curiosity, creative thinking, and confidence in order to support each child’s learning journey.
At BISP, our Primary curriculum blends academic excellence with holistic development. Across our bespoke, topic-based units of learning, we follow an enquiry based approach to teaching and learning that ignites the children’s curiosity and generates excitement for learning. Our core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science are complemented by specialist lessons in Languages (Thai, Mandarin and Spanish), Physical Education, Music, Art and Design, and Innovation (STEAM).
We follow and enrich the National Curriculum of England to provide diverse learning opportunities that cater to our international student body while celebrating our location in Phuket, Thailand. Our Primary curriculum builds on the foundational knowledge and skills developed in the Early Years, ensuring that students are both supported and challenged as they work towards specific end-of-year expectations in the Primary School. By adapting the learning context to reflect our unique international community, we make education relevant and connected to both our local environment and the wider world and enable children to grow as global citizens.
Guided by our mission to Inspire Learning, Nurture Wellbeing, and Ignite Passion, we believe that by encouraging students to explore and expand their thinking, they will develop the independence needed to take risks and discover their true passions. We believe in nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. Through a balance of academics, sports, arts, and wellbeing initiatives, we support students in building resilience, empathy, and confidence to prepare them for future challenges.
The wellbeing of our children in Primary School is crucial as it lays the foundation for their overall development and future success. A supportive environment fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, enabling children to navigate challenges effectively. Moreover, prioritising wellbeing empowers children to develop self-efficacy, enhancing their confidence and resilience. As they grow, their innate curiosity is nurtured, encouraging a lifelong love of learning and exploration. Ultimately, a focus on wellbeing underpins everything we do, shaping not only capable learners but also compassionate and engaged members of society.
Mindfulness is an integral part of our wellbeing provision, helping children develop focus, resilience, and a sense of calm in their daily lives. Research shows that mindfulness reduces stress, improves concentration, and enhances emotional well-being, allowing students to stay engaged and thrive academically. At BISP we embed mindfulness into our school day through mindful moments, breathing exercises, and guided reflections, helping children develop self-awareness and emotional regulation.
We believe that wellbeing is not just something we provide for our students—it is something they actively help shape. Our student leadership team plays a vital role in ensuring that every child feels included, supported, and heard. At the start of each term, Year 6 students are invited to write persuasive speeches, demonstrating their passion for well-being and leadership. Eight students, two from each Colour Team, are then selected to work alongside the Well-being Coordinator to champion well-being initiatives throughout the school.
By empowering students to take an active role in well-being, we nurture a culture of kindness, responsibility, and leadership that extends far beyond the classroom.
At BISP, we recognise and celebrate each child’s progress through regular assessments, student-led conferences, and performances. Our personalised approach ensures that every student’s achievements are valued, fostering a love for learning and self-improvement.
To measure this progress, teachers utilise a variety of assessment methods, including standardised termly and end-of-year evaluations. These assessments align with the English National Curriculum, are externally validated, and are commonly employed in UK state and independent schools as well as in numerous international institutions. This comprehensive assessment framework ensures that our students are on track to meet their learning expectations each year.

These top-line results are from the externally validated Progress Tests in English, Maths and Science and are taken by children in Years 2 to 6. Beyond the classroom, students have access to a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including performing arts, STEAM clubs, language programmes, and competitive sports. These activities enhance creativity, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Experiential learning is a core component of our curriculum, encompassing educational trips and residential camps that enhance holistic development. From visiting conservation sites like an elephant sanctuary to exploring local historical landmarks, these trips provide diverse and enriching learning experiences.
Students from Year 3 onward also participate in overnight camps, gradually increasing in duration. These residential experiences promote independence and teamwork while allowing students to create lasting memories.
Furthermore, students have access to a wide range of after-school activities, spanning sports, arts, and academics, all supported by our qualified teachers and specialist coaches. This comprehensive approach nurtures well-rounded, inspired students capable of pursuing their interests at the highest levels.
Set on our lush 44-acre campus, our purpose-built primary facilities include modern classrooms, interactive learning spaces, a dedicated Primary School library, and outdoor play areas. These spaces are designed to inspire curiosity and support hands-on learning.
We passionately believe that learning extends beyond the traditional classroom environment. With extensive facilities and abundant green spaces, students in the Primary School regularly engage in outdoor learning opportunities.
We value strong partnerships between home and school. Regular communication, parent workshops, and community events ensure that families remain engaged in their child’s educational journey.
By fostering open communication and actively engaging families in the educational journey, we create a supportive environment that enhances student learning and development. Together, we celebrate achievements, address challenges, and cultivate a sense of community that empowers our students to thrive.
Our experienced and passionate educators bring international expertise to BISP, ensuring that every student receives the best possible education in a supportive and inspiring environment.
