The final BISP Sports Day of the season took place on Wednesday, 12th February, bringing together secondary students for a day of competition, teamwork, and athletic excellence.

Despite the hot conditions, students and staff rose to the challenge, ensuring the event was a resounding success. The competition saw students participate in a range of track and field events, including:
Track races – from the 1500m endurance race to the explosive 100m sprint final
Field events – high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put, javelin, and discus

Among the many impressive performances, a highlight of the day was Chiara breaking her own record in the Over-15 girls’ 1500m, securing her school records across all three age groups in the event.

A notable change to this year’s schedule saw the 100m finals and relays take place after lunch, creating a thrilling conclusion to the competition. The House tents erupted in cheers as the school’s fastest sprinters raced down the track, bringing an electrifying atmosphere to the finish line.

Congratulations to all students for their outstanding performances, and a huge thank you to the PE Department and all staff for making this event possible. We look forward to seeing what next year’s competition brings!

New School Records

500m Over 15 Girls – Chiara – Time 5.23.55

This new record is 9 seconds faster than the previous record set by Chiara in 2024.

800m Under 13 Boys – Julian – Time 2.33.83

This new record is almost 5 seconds faster than the previous record set by Oscar in 2023. 

100m Over 15 Boys – Sean – Time 11.10

This new record was set in the qualifying heats where 3 other boys also broke the existing record set by William in 2021.

Shot Putt Under 13 Girls – Anna – Distance 8.29m

This new record betters the previous record of 8.12m set in 2015 and held by Chaliesa.

Javelin Under 13 Girls – Anna-Irina – Distance 19.84m

This new record is almost a metre better than the previous set by Palatha back in 2006!

Long Jump Under 15 Boys – Jean – Distance 5.43m
