As we wrapped up Term 1 in our primary PE program, we marked the occasion with our highly anticipated annual House Cross-Country event. Each year level took on a challenging course with distances tailored to their age and ability—400 meters for Years 1 and 2, 800 meters for Years 3 and 4, and a full 1000 meters for Years 5 and 6.

To keep the competition both fair and motivating, participants earned points for their House based on their finishing times rather than their finishing positions. This inclusive scoring system ensured that every student, regardless of where they placed, contributed to their House’s overall total.

This year was only the second time we’ve used our new course, and the students truly rose to the occasion. Several of last year’s inaugural records fell as our young athletes pushed themselves to new personal bests. Alongside the main events, we were treated to a thrilling parents’ race, which never fails to excite and entertain.

We want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our runners for their determination, sportsmanship, and positive attitudes. A big thank you as well to the supportive families, friends, and community members who came out to cheer them on.

Wishing everyone a well-deserved holiday break. We look forward to seeing you all next term, refreshed and ready for more fun and fitness!
