During the summer break, from August 4 to 18, 2024, 30 BISP students from Year 11 to Year 13 took part in the annual military training in Thung Yai District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. This training is a key part of the mandatory program set by the Thai government, which requires all Thai national male students to undergo military training during their high school years. Students typically enrol in the program in Year 10 and continue their one-week training for three consecutive years.
The Thai student military training is designed to instil discipline, resilience, and a sense of responsibility toward both oneself and society. It also emphasises the importance of sacrifice and duty, values that are crucial for personal and social development. This year, the 30 BISP students not only completed the rigorous training objectives but also went above and beyond by engaging in volunteer activities. These activities provided them with an additional opportunity to develop their leadership skills and foster a spirit of generosity and community service.
This combination of military training and volunteer work proved to be an enriching experience for the students, helping them grow as individuals and contributing positively to their communities. Their dedicated participation reflects the values that BISP upholds, encouraging students to be well-rounded, responsible, and active members of society.
