Towards the end of Term 3 BISP hosted Animal Welfare Day with special guests from the Soi Dog Foundation, Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation, and Sustainable Mai Khao. These organisations shared their important work in the community, inspiring our students and staff with their dedication to animal welfare and conservation.
Throughout the day, students learned about the rescue, rehabilitation, and protection of dogs, turtles, and other wildlife. The presentations and activities emphasised the importance of compassionate care and the challenges these organisations face.
As a result of the event, the BISP community raised a significant amount of money to support these three organisations and we look forward to making meaningful donations to the Soi Dog Foundation, Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation, and Sustainable Mai Khao.
In addition to monetary contributions, we distributed a large range of items collected during our recent Animal Donation Drive. These items were delivered to local animal welfare groups, including Rawai Animal Lovers (RAL), Bodhi Dog Rescue and Shelter, Phuket Stray Dog Shelter, and Sonya’s Angel Paws, which helps feed both cats and dogs in the community. These donations were funded by contributions received throughout the year, demonstrating our school community’s ongoing commitment to animal welfare.
Our regular Art for Service activity, held every Thursday in the art room, also supported Animal Welfare Day. Students created large 3D paper-mâché animals to raise awareness, as well as cards that were sold to raise funds. We also held a raffle featuring original artwork and cards made by our talented students, contributing to the overall fundraising efforts.
Thank you to everyone who participated in and supported Animal Welfare Day. Your contributions have made a significant impact on the lives of many animals in our community.
Stay tuned for further updates on the funds raised and the impact of our donations. Thank you for your generosity and support!
