The school-wide BISP 2022 Eco Week lined up nicely with Year 1’s topic on materials. During the week the students learned how materials can be reused and up-cycled to produce a variety of ‘new’ objects. They then had a chance to produce products of their own that could be sold at the Tiny Eco Market to raise funds for sustainability projects across the island.
The students used scraps and leftover materials to make picture frames, they painted jars to use with tea lights as lamps, and washed and painted rocks from the school garden that could be used as colourful decorations. The students had a lot of fun learning about materials while also using their creativity to raise money and awareness for sustainability
