Last week our Shine student leaders, Marija and Min Ha, took the initiative to lead their own Wellbeing session with Key Stage 4 (Year 10-11) students on the importance of moving away from screens and engaging in hobbies and passions that enable them to ‘shine’.
They emphasised to students the need to balance academic time with social activities and extra-curricular pursuits, as a way to relax after a busy day online, feel good, and give them the space to reach their potential in all aspects of school life, as well as life outside of school.
Students were encouraged to consider how certain activities impact their wellbeing and to then use the Wellbeing lesson time practically, by going away from their screens and participating in a sport/hobby/passion of their choice.
A huge range of activities was then documented by our students, which represent and celebrate the breadth of opportunity and fun to be had at home/school and across Phuket, beyond laptop and mobile phone screens.
