The Green Thailand event hosted by British International School, Phuket (BISP) on November 13th showcased the Happy Green World program. This was the culmination of years of hard work by the school’s IB CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) students, they translated it into Thai language. Twenty-six local schools and 41 teachers participated, and were taught how to incorporate the program in their own schools. It was also attended by Koh Kaew Or Bor Tor District Chief Mr. Kurkiat Jitkur, Director of Thailand Tourism Authority Phuket office Khun Kanokkittika Kritwuttikorn, and Development director of the Phuket Hotels Association Sumi Soorian.
The program consists of a student book, a teacher’s guide and a board game. Over the course of a few hours, the local teachers took part in activities from the guide. Each school was given a set to take back. For more information on the overall progress of the program and other updates, or if you would like to sponsor a district or school, please email Mr. Berman.
